35 Years of Results in
Conservation, Land Use
 and Public Affairs

CREATING VALUE, PRODUCING RESULTS, HELPING CLIENTS MOVE FORWARD !

I was born in Seattle and grew up on the Eastside. My family moved to Redmond in 1963 when it had 3,000 residents and one stop light that went to flashing red at 9PM.
Things have sure changed ! The Watson Blueberry farm is gone, now part of the Redmond City Hall Campus.

I graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors Degree in 1976. I received a Masters in Public Administration from Seattle University in 1984.

I am the proud father of two daughters and the grandfather of Parker (age 10) and Tate (age 7). I spoil them whenever I can!
I retired from King County after 30 years of service in 2007. I was blessed to work in an area of personal passion-conservation.

I was elected to two terms on the North Bend City Council, a small rural town that has a unique set of challenges. Because of my service there, I understand the concerns of rural AND city residents.

As Chair of the diverse 39 member Snohomish Salmon Recovery Forum I invited farmers to the table, worked with the cities,King and Snohomish Counties, the Master Builders Association, Boeing Company, the Tulalip Tribe, local sportsmen, and the environmental community to craft an effective, balanced plan to recover Salmon.
Our NW Salmon populations have plummeted to only 10% of historic levels. This important work was based on input from scientists operating under the umbrella of best available science. This technical information was used to educate members of the Forum. It helped define future outcomes and helped the Forum reach a largely consensus  based Salmon Recovery Plan that Bill Ruckelshaus proclaimed a "regional model" for all other Salmon Plans in the 13 other watersheds on Puget Sound.

We must restore Puget Sound for our children and their grand children !
